HGS Attorneys Facilitate Establishment of Trout Creek Community Development District and Validate $107 Million in Bonds

On October 21, 2014, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2014-44 establishing the Trout Creek Community Development District (District) as petitioned by WFC Ashford Mills Owner VII, L.L.C. and represented by Hopping Green & Sams (HGS) attorneys Jonathan Johnson and Katie Buchanan. The District contains approximately 997.90 acres and is located north of County Road 16A, southeast of County Road 210, and west of Interstate 95 in St. Johns County. On January 8, 2015, the District received a Final Judgment from the Seventh Judicial Circuit Court of Florida validating its Capital Improvement Revenue Bonds in an amount not to exceed $107,290,000, with the assistance of Katie Buchanan and Gary Perko. The District anticipates issuing bonds in early 2015 and intends to use the bond proceeds to fund the construction and acquisition of public infrastructure improvements.
