The December edition of the Florida Chamber’s Viewpoints newsletter featured an op-ed on state water policy by Hopping Green & Sams (HGS) attorney and lobbyist, David Childs. The article notes that while Florida does not face the kind of water supply issues plaguing California, the Sunshine State has challenges on the horizon. David explains that Florida is taking steps to address those challenges, particularly by transforming the regionally managed water supply planning process into a more effective tool for identifying and funding cost-effective water supply projects. Florida businesses and local governments will need to learn how to navigate the shifting regulatory landscape in order to be well positioned to meet their water supply needs today and in the future.
