On April 24, 2017, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) solicited comments on its draft “2016-2017 Florida Annual Ambient Air Monitoring Network Plan.” The Plan is available here.
The Plan details Florida’s network of ambient air quality monitors, which is designed to provide timely air pollution data to the public, support compliance with ambient air quality standards, develop emission reduction strategies, and support air pollution research studies. The Plan includes recent and anticipated changes to the network. For example, Plan Table 3.1 summarizes notable monitoring site additions and closures. The Plan’s map of monitoring sites and Table 3.1 appear below.
Comments on the Plan must be received on or before May 18, 2017. After the comment period, FDEP will submit the Plan to the EPA for review and approval.
