EPA Releases Draft Inventory of U.S. GHG Emissions and Sinks

Posted Friday, March 7th, 2014

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released its Draft Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks for 1990 through 2012.  Organized by source category and sector, the inventory contains annual emissions estimates for carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride.  This inventory is the latest in a series of annual submissions to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.  EPA has requested recommendations for improving the overall quality of the inventory report, which is expected to be finalized in April 2014.  Comments are due by March 26, 2014.
