EPA Proposes Approval of Florida’s Plan for the 2008 Lead Air Quality Standards

On May 22, 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed approval of Florida’s “infrastructure” state implementation plan (SIP) for the 2008 lead national ambient air quality standards, with the exception of certain previously approved portions related to prevention of significant deterioration permitting. Infrastructure SIPs are required by sections 110(a)(1) and (2) of the Clean Air Act and address basic requirements for the implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of each ambient air quality standard.

Comments on EPA’s proposed approval are due June 22, 2015.
