EPA Gives Final Full Approval to Florida Regional Haze Plan

Posted Wednesday, August 21st, 2013

On August 14, 2013, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region IV Administrator signed a final rule fully approving the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) Regional Haze State Implementation Plan (SIP).  EPA’s final rule is consistent with its prior proposed action, as previously reported by HGS here.  Public comments critical of DEP’s SIP and EPA’s proposed approval were submitted.  Any petitions for judicial review of the final rule will be due 60 days from the date it is published in the Federal Register, which is expected soon.
