On April 16, 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized approval of revisions to Florida’s state implementation plan (SIP) addressing the Hillsborough County nonattainment area (a 1.14 mile radius circle surrounding a single facility) for the 2008 lead national ambient air quality standard. As previously reported by HGS, the SIP revision includes a lead emissions inventory, an analysis of reasonably available control technology and reasonably available control measures, a reasonable further progress plan, a modeling demonstration that shows attainment with the standard by December 31, 2015, and contingency measures as required by the Clean Air Act.
Florida’s SIP revisions are effective May 18, 2015.
