DEP Supports Legislation on Title V Air Permit Fees

Posted Thursday, February 21st, 2013

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is supporting legislation, sponsored by Senator Thad Altman and Representative Jimmy Patronis, to clarify that Title V air permit fees are not required for greenhouse gas emissions and to change the fee-calculation formula to be based on “actual” emissions rather than allowable emissions.  In addition, fee provisions based on allowable emission limits are removed.  A copy of draft amendments to section 403.0872, Florida Statutes, is available here.
