On September 28-29th, the Florida Chamber of Commerce convened its annual Future of Florida Forum, which is a visioning meeting of the state’s top business leaders, industry experts and elected officials. Among the speakers was HGS’s own David Childs, who presented on Florida’s water future. David highlighted the many successes of the state, including the significant water savings achieved via local government and agricultural water conservation practices as well as the reuse of reclaimed water. David explained that a challenge now confronting the State is preparing for its anticipated growth and ensuring that the State will have ample water supplies to meet projected demands over the next twenty years while maintaining its high quality natural resources. Achieving these goals will require sound scientific policies and strategic infrastructure investments.
