Posted Tuesday, May 20th, 2014

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Air Scientific Advisory Committee (CASAC), which was created to review air quality criteria and national ambient air quality standards (NAAQS) and recommend revisions to EPA as appropriate, will be holding two panel teleconferences in May.

The CASAC Oxides of Nitrogen Primary NAAQS Review Panel will hold a teleconference to discuss its draft reviews of EPA’s Integrated review Plan for the Primary National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Nitrogen Dioxide (External Review Draft) and Integrated Science Assessment (ISA) for Oxides of Nitrogen—Health Criteria (External Review Draft—November 2013).  The teleconference will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time).

The CASAC Ozone Review Panel will hold a teleconference to review and finalize draft letters regarding its review of three EPA documents related to EPA’s review of the primary and secondary NAAQS for ozone: (1) Health Risk and Exposure Assessment for Ozone—Second External Review Draft (January 2014); (2) Welfare Risk and Exposure Assessment for Ozone—Second External Review Draft (January 2014); and (3) Policy Assessment for the Review of the Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards—Second External Review Draft (January 2014).  The teleconference will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Eastern Time), with an additional teleconference held on June 4, 2014, if necessary.
