On January 25, 2021, with the assistance of HGS attorney Alyssa Willson, the Babcock Ranch Independent Special District and State of Florida Division of Emergency Management entered into a State-Funded Grant Agreement whereby the District will receive $8,000,000 of Fixed Capital Outlay Funds for Construction of the Southwest Florida Regional Emergency Shelter.
