2016 Legislative Wrap Up

Posted Friday, March 18th, 2016

Florida’s 2016 Legislative Session came to an uneventful, and compared to drama of recent years, amicable conclusion around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, March 11. The Governor has since signed into law the $82 billion Florida budget with approximately $250 million in vetoes, much less than initially feared by legislative leadership after failure to provide the Governor his requested $1 billion in tax relief and $250 million in economic development incentive funding.

The Hopping Green & Sams (HGS) team of Frank E. Matthews, Gary K. Hunter, Jr., David Childs, French Brown, Cheryl Stuart, Eric Olsen, and Brittany Dover had another quietly productive year in representing client interests before the legislature, including leading the advocacy on many enacted policy bills on behalf of various clients. For a more complete account of the matters important to HGS’s clients, please review the 2016 Hopping Green & Sams Legislative Wrap Up.

For questions on any legislation summarized, please reach out to your current HGS attorney or contact Gary K. Hunter, Jr.
